Students may request that Ivy Tech Community College accept
credits earned at regionally accredited colleges and universities
for completion of degree or certificate requirements. Only
courses in which the student has received a grade of C or better
will be considered for transfer. Transfer of credits from Ivy
Tech to other colleges is possible.
While selected credits have transferred to some colleges for a
long time, now entire programs can be transferred. Transfer of
credit from one college to another is not guaranteed. Every
college has established policies and procedures for transfer of
credit. Students attending Ivy Tech in preparation for
transferring a single class or a cluster of classes should seek
prior approval from the receiving institution. When
transferring an entire associate degree, an advisable plan of
action would include identifying the college to which a student
plans to transfer and then requesting their approval to transfer
the program.
Cooperative agreements between Ivy Tech Community College and
other institutions are your assurance that Ivy Tech credits will be
accepted at other colleges and universities. Or, if you're enrolled
now in another college or university, that the credits earned will
transfer to Ivy Tech.
Information about specific courses that transfer, or about
additional transfer agreements with other colleges, is available
from your program advisor or from the Academic Advising Office.
