Department of Workforce and Economic Development provides
support services to area businesses and organizations to assist in
development, productivity, and expansion activities. Services
available include:
Work Profiling
Ivy Tech Community College, in conjunction with Saville &
Holdsworth, Ltd., offers real-world assessment and job profiling
solutions to HR professionals through the innovative Work Profiling
system. Work Profiling assists businesses in reducing employee
turnover, reducing training and orientation time, defining key
employee skills and behavior, identifying training needs,
evaluating employee performance, interviewing candidates more
effectively, and complying with legal requirements of ADA and
EEOC.
Testing and Assessment
Services to assist area businesses gauge worker, workplace, and
workforce skill levels are customized for your use by Business and
Industry Training professionals. Our staff can develop and
administer an effective assessment in a variety of areas, including
Basic Skills, Technical Skills, Workplace Behaviors, and Aptitude.
Results can be used for individual training and development
planning, workplace skill gap identification, project readiness
analysis, and employee selection.
Economic Development
Department of Workforce and Economic Development professionals
help area business identify, acquire and administer public funding
to expand. Opportunities for tax credits, Training 2000 grants,
energy conservation audits, and other economic incentives can be
identified through Ivy Tech Community College.
