What is Department of Workforce and Economic
Development?
Department of Workforce and Economic Development is a service
arm of Ivy Tech Community College. As Department of Workforce and
Economic Development specialists, we make the assets of the college
available to the business community the way they want them and need
them. We service industry, small business, government and
non-profit agencies, providing experienced staff in various
disciplines to analyze training needs, assess employees’
skills levels, and recommend and implement the optimal training
program to meet your needs. Because each client’s situation
is unique, each training program is unique. We offer customized
training and education services in which consultants develop and
deliver courses specifically to meet employers’ needs an a
one-time or ongoing basis. We can provide virtually any training
for any client at all levels of the organization, accommodating all
time frames and constraints.
Department of Workforce and Economic Development can help
clients meet their long-term goals, by developing a complete
program or simply offering a single course. This usually entails a
needs analysis and skills assessment that may lead to basic skills
training, soft skills training and/or technology training.
Department of Workforce and Economic Development is expert in
assisting with all stages of plant start ups and pre-employment
training as well as quality management and industrial technology
training. Whether a company plans to add to its workforce,
