APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS
Apprenticeship programs exist for both the building and
industrial trades. This focused education produces a base of
skilled workers to ensure the growth and development of businesses
and industries currently located in Indiana, and ensures the
attraction of new companies by increasing the availability of our
most important resource-skilled labor.
Our apprentice programs are customized to serve industry needs,
whether those be in machine maintenance, as an electrician or
plumber, or in other skilled trades. Department of Workforce and
Economic Development designs and develops customized programs for
each craft. These union/management/Ivy Tech partnerships are based
on the premise that tomorrow’s workplace will require more
skilled trades workers and that those workers must keep learning
new technologies. The program also meets the guidelines set forth
by the Bureau to Apprenticeship Training [BAT].
Ivy Tech apprentice programs include college credit courses. This
means that once individuals complete their training, they not only
achieve their journeymen’s status, but can also continue
their education by pursuing an associate degree of technical
certificate.
