MKT 101 Principles of Marketing -- Prerequisites: BUS 101 or MKT program advisor or designee approval. Introduces the marketing role in society and how it affects the marketing strategy. Emphasizes the marketing mix, product planning, and the effects of the demographic dimension on the consumer market. 3 lecture hours.

MKT 104 Promotion Management -- Prerequisite: BUS 101. Presents management planning and oversight techniques for effectively communicating the results of the marketing strategy to customers. Provides a comprehensive overview of promotion methods as they interact in the marketing mix, which includes price, channel of distribution, and product. 3 lecture hours

MKT 110 Consumer Behavior -- Prerequisites: BUS 105, HLT 125. Study of the basic principles of consumer behavior which offers insight into the buyer-seller relationship. Application of theories from psychology, social psychology and economics are examined. Course examines concepts that have implications for marketing management decisions. 3 lecture hours.

MKT 201 Introduction to Market Research -- Prerequisites: MAT 111 or higher, MKT 101. Presents basic research methods entailing procedures, questionnaire design, data analysis, and effectively communicating research results. 3 lecture hours.

MKT 202 Logistics/Purchasing Control -- Prerequisite: BUS 101. Introduces students to the framework of logistics, the logistics environment, customer services and materiel management. Introduces material resources planning [MRP] and just-in-time [jobIT] principles. 3 lecture hours.

MKT 220 Principles of Retailing -- Prerequisites: MAT 111 or higher, MKT 101. Studies retailing concepts and practices including retail merchandise planning, buying, pricing, promotion and control in established retail operations. Attention is given to managerial and operational skills. 3 lecture hours.

MKT 284 Coop/Internship -- Prerequisites: 48 credit hours or MKT program advisor or designee approval. Gives students the opportunity to work at a job site that is specifically related to their career objectives. Provides on-the-job experience while earning credit toward an associate degree. Contact hours vary.
