Early childhood
professionals work directly with children and families to
provide childcare and family services. They select activities and
materials appropriate for young children that support a
child’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual
development. Establishing a productive relationship with the
child’s family is important to managing an effective program
of child growth and development. They may also work as classroom
aides in public schools. For program information see: Education; Early Childhood Education
Parents seek high quality care for their child that offers more than just a babysitting service. Early childhood education professionals have specific education and training to provide developmentally appropriate care to children. For program information see: Education; Elementary Education Concentration
