Tips for Completing a Scholarship
Application
- Submit a neatly, completed application. It is not mandatory
that the application be typed, however you want to present your
application in a neat, legible format.
- Recommendations count! If a specific scholarship requests that
you submit three faculty or staff recommendations, you might ask
four or five different people. Remember that faculty and staff
members are not required to make a recommendation for you.
- Review the selection criteria. You probably will not be
eligible for all scholarships that are offered during a specific
semester. List only those scholarships on your application that you
meet the criteria.
- Meet the deadline. Applications and recommendations will not be
accepted after the deadline.
- For Summer Semester 2006 need based scholarships, you must have
completed a Free Application for Student Aid [FAFSA] by March 1,
2006
- For Spring Semester 2006 need based scholarships, you must have
completed the Free Application for Student Aid, [FAFSA] no later
than August 1, 2005.
A committee appointed by the Chancellor will review
the applications and recommend the recipients to the Chancellor.
All decisions of the committee are final and
confidential.
