How to Transfer Financial
Aid From Another College To Ivy Tech
The process of transferring your financial aid from another
college to Ivy Tech is complicated, but this checklist should
help.
- Release Federal Aid Application Information to Ivy
Tech
The information on your federal Student Aid Report [SAR] must be
electronically-released to Ivy Tech. There are a few ways to do
this.
- You may already have a copy of your Student Aid Report.
It’s usually 4-5 pages of FAFSA information - if you have it,
submit it to the Financial Aid Office.
- If you don’t have a copy of your Student Aid Report, you
can call [319] 337-5665 and request a duplicate be mailed--this
takes 7-14 days. Be sure to confirm your mailing address when you
call.
- Your current school may be able to provide you a copy of your
SAR or give you a number from the SAR called a PIN Number that can
be used to obtain your FAFSA information electronically; submit
your PIN number to the Ivy Tech Financial Aid Office.
- Transfer State Aid to Ivy Tech
If you receive state financial aid, you must call [317] 232-2350 or
write to the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana
[SSACI], 150 E. Market St., Indianapolis, IN 46204 to inform SSACI
of the decision to transfer to Ivy Tech-Lafayette [010039].
- Transfer Loan Aid to Ivy Tech
If you receive financial aid in the form of a student loan, you
must contact your lender to cancel any pending disbursements at
your prior school, then inquire about loan application procedures
at Ivy Tech. For more information see link to loans.
- Complete Admissions Procedures
You must be degree-seeking to be eligible to receive financial aid.
Please contact the Admissions Office in Ivy Hall Room 1144 to
receive information about admissions procedures. Admissions
requirements include the following: You must complete an Admissions
Application. You must have an official high school transcript or
GED scores submitted to the Admissions Office by the granting
institution. In some cases you may have to have your college
transcript submitted to the Admissions Office by the granting
institution.
- Pay Tuition
Tuition must be paid to the
Ivy Tech Cashier’s Office by the established due date.
Students in the process of transferring financial aid should be
prepared to pay for tuition and books without the benefit of
financial aid. If admissions and/or financial aid files are not
complete, no aid will be awarded to pay or defer tuition. In
addition, first-time Ivy Tech student loan borrowers cannot use
pending loan funds to pay tuition.
If you have any questions, call or stop by the Financial
Aid Office.
