Ambassadors are an elite group of students who are the "face" of Ivy Tech at admissions visitation days, luncheons, recruitment activities, tours, open house events, and dedication ceremonies. The program is a unique leadership opportunity and prepares students for leadership roles after graduation.
Students participate in regular meetings with faculty and staff where they provide the student perspective to relevant issues facing the college. Students are also speaking to various individuals about what it means to be an Ivy Tech student. This role requires the individual to be comfortable in sharing personal experiences about why they enjoy Ivy Tech Community College - Lafayette.
Ambassadors are selected based on their grade point average (minimum 3.0 GPA required), communication skills, and desire to represent the college.
“I enjoy being an ambassador at Ivy Tech. It really makes me feel like I can make a difference while I attend college. The best thing is I get to meet a lot of people to tell them how great this place is.” –Student Ambassador |
